01 · THE BOTTLENECK & CHALLENGE

Architectural Constraints & Technical Hurdles

Field chargers operate in remote conditions with variable cellular signal strength. Intermittent connection drops previously led to unrecorded meter values, delayed payment reconciliation, and firmware drift across firmware revisions.

02 · THE ARCHITECTURE SOLUTION

Engineered for High Concurrency & Zero Data Loss

We engineered a distributed, event-driven architecture using AWS IoT Core and WebSockets to handle real-time OCPP 1.6 and 2.0.1 messages (BootNotification, Heartbeat, MeterValues, RemoteStartTransaction). On top, we built a responsive touch UI and an operations command portal featuring live diagnostics, remote rebooting, dynamic tariff engines, and automated RFID/POS authorization.

03 · DEPLOYMENT HIGHLIGHTS

Key Production Milestones

Event-driven OCPP message broker orchestrating bi-directional hardware commands.

Resilient offline queueing for meter values during transient cellular dropouts.

Integrated POS and RFID authentication workflows for instant authorization.

Fleet diagnostics dashboard with real-time temperature, voltage, and fault alarms.

04 · RESULTS & PRODUCTION IMPACT

Measured Production Outcomes

Delivered a production CSMS that standardized charging operations, reduced manual intervention to near zero, and enabled reliable commercial fleet deployment with sub-second status synchronization across hardware endpoints.

KEY TAKEAWAY: In physical IoT infrastructure, resilient software architecture and rigorous protocol adherence are what separate unreliable chargers from mission-critical commercial networks.
